Briana's 22nd Birthday! | Manion Amor [Grant + Callie]

This past weekend was so much fun for Grant and I! With everything we had going on and all the friends we got to spend time with, I felt like we were back to our old social selves. Don't get me wrong, Texas has been great so far, but I don't feel like we've been as active here as we were in Utah. We like to hang out with friends every day and do something really fun and active on the weekends, so hopefully now that summer is rolling around, we'll be able to get out and do more.

Our weekend started off with a really fun night! Last Friday was Briana's birthday! (And you all know how much I love birthdays!) She said she wanted to go to the movie, "What to Expect When You're Expecting," so that's exactly what we did. I invited my cousin Taylor along (he just moved to Dallas for the summer) and we went to an earlier showing. The movie was…interesting. It was funny at times, but overall I think it was a let-down. I wouldn't recommend it. There were times that something happened or someone said something that was just awkward. I think the writers meant it to be funny, but no one laughed. Everyone just felt weird. So I'm glad we saw it because Briana really wanted to, but I don't recommend it.

Anyways, after the movie Briana suggested we go out for ice-cream. I made up an excuse to swing by our apartment first because earlier that week I had decided to make her cupcakes with little cupcake toppers that I designed and cut out. I didn't want to come right out and tell her, so I dragged them back to our place so she could be surprised. When she walked in, she saw all the balloons I had Grant blow up for her (thanks for being a good sport, babe!) and the cupcake tower on the table with all the cupcakes. Behind them I placed some flowers and the "Happy Birthday" sign I made a while ago. I also had some punch out along with glasses, napkins, and plates for the cupcakes. She was definitely surprised! And I didn't get a picture of it, but I also fastened together an envelope from some pretty cardstock and ribbon, in which I put the 3 cd's full of their pictures that I took for them. I originally wanted to get one printed for her for her birthday, but I didn't know which picture she would like! So I figured she could choose from the hundreds of pictures I took.

This picture came out a little dark, but how cute does she look? It's the Birthday Glow.

Taylor approves of the cupcakes

I totally instagramed about it

After we ate our way through half the cupcakes (don't judge–I made brownie cupcakes and they are delicious! It's impossible to only eat one), we walked over to Main Street where Grapevine Main Street Days was going on. We spent about a half hour or so strolling through all the booths and checking everything out. Then went over to the fun side with all the rides!

I just LOVE Ferris Wheels!

By the time we got home it was pretty late so we said goodnight, but I thought it was a really fun night! I hope Briana had as much fun on her birthday as I did! We love her and Nick and are so glad we met them! Almost all of our memories here in Texas have them in it, and I love that we've had them here to do everything with!
